Xander shifted miserably in his seat at the Bronze. It seemed like no matter how many times he told
Larry that he wasn’t gay, the quarterback just wouldn’t believe him. Ever since Larry had come out to
him last year, the jock kept trying to convince Xander to “be yourself” and “quit fighting the truth” and
“take a ride on the gay train”. Yeah right. He wanted Xander to “take a ride on the gay train” alright, first
stop Larry.
The thing was, Xander had started to like Larry after the whole coming out thing, especially when he had
stopped bullying him and started respecting women more. NOT like him, like him, but like him as a friend.
Larry started out with just flirting and innuendo and that type of thing. Now it was more of the octopus
Larry with the wandering hands type of thing.
It was almost flattering, in a highly uncomfortable and entirely creepy type way. Larry was definitely
interested and just couldn’t believe that Xander was not.
And right now Larry had one hand on Xander’s arm and another was creeping up his thigh.
Just then he felt another hand rest on his shoulder. Great Googly-Moogly, did Larry really just sprout
another hand, I was just kidding about the whole octopus thing, I didn’t really want him to sprout six more
arms, I have a hard enough time trying to avoid just two.
Xander was highly embarrassed when he realized that the hand on his shoulder belonged to someone
besides Larry, but hey, it was the hellmouth, weird crap happened here all the time. He was even more
embarrassed when he realized who the extra hand belonged to.
“What’s going on here Xander?” Angel asked
“Nothing, just uh, Angel have you met Larry? Larry meet Angel,” Xander said as he tried to shrug Larry’s
hand of his arm and push the other one off his leg without calling undue attention to the fact that he was
sitting in the Bronze being groped by a guy in front of Angel.
Larry eyed the dark, yet eerily pale guy in front of him. To quote Cordelia, “Hello, salty goodness.”
Angel sat in the chair on the other side of Xander from where Larry sat. He used the hand he still had on
Xander’s shoulder to pull the young man closer to him, out of Larry’s grasp and up against Angel’s side.
Xander really didn’t know what was going on, but Larry was no longer touching him, so that was of the
good. However, Angel was now touching him and stroking his shoulder and arm?!? That was of the …..
bad, right? Even though it felt kinda nice, it had to be of the bad, Xander was almost certain. Or, you
know, maybe not.
“Hello Larry. I’m Angel, Xander’s boyfriend, and I’m going to pretend that you didn’t just have your
hands all over him,” Angel said, his words nice, his tone, not so much.
Xander stared at Angel, who looked down at him, giving him a just play along look.
“Boyfriend?.....Yeah, boyfriend. Larry this is Angel, my, uh, boyfriend.”
Larry gulped visibly, but soldiered on; he had, after all, been working on Xander for the better part of a
year and wasn’t going to give up easily. Especially not when he’d happened to see Xander in a Speedo
when he was on the swim team last spring. Nope, definitely not giving up on that sweet ass, and those
long legs….. Larry lost himself for a moment when the memory of swimteam-Xander led to a vision of
Xander wrapping those legs around him.
Xander wondered why Larry had started panting and stiffened a little when Angel started growling.
Angel tightened his hold on Xander, giving him a comforting little stroke to assure him that he wasn’t
growling at him, and Xander relaxed a bit against him.
Larry snapped himself out of his fantasy and focused back on the object of his desire and the
mysterious guy who had his arm wrapped around him.
“Boyfriend, huh? How come I don’t remember seeing you together before?” Larry asked Xander
tenaciously.
“Uh, well, uh….”
“It’s really none of your business, but we had a rough patch awhile back and have only recently gotten
back together. But we are together now, and stronger than ever,” Angel said smoothly.
Larry looked at Xander, who was looking very confused, and felt victory in his grasp. “Prove it.”
Angel and Xander spoke ever so eloquently at the same time. “Huh?”
“You’re together, right, so prove it. Kiss each other, like you mean it, and I’ll believe you,” Larry said
with a smirk.
Xander and Angel looked at each other for a moment.
Xander was about to protest and admit the truth to Larry when….
“Sure, why not, but not in here. Out back is better. I don’t really feel like giving a free show to the entire
Bronze,” Angel said as he stood and started to pull a stunned Xander towards the exit.
Larry stared after them in shock, then hurried to follow. He was sure that they would give up the
pretense once they were outside and then he would have Xander all to himself.
Xander was still stunned when Angel pulled him outside and pushed him up against the alley wall. He
hadn’t yet recovered when Angel gently grabbed his head and pulled him forward for a kiss.
He had no chance of recovery when Angel proceeded to use his tongue to map the inside of Xander’s
mouth. He definitely couldn’t have said why he responded to Angel’s kiss with his own tongue, or why he
was clutching at Angel’s lapels in desperation.
Larry just stood and stared at them stupidly. He was convinced, oh boy was he convinced. And maybe
more than a little hot.
“Okay guys, I believe you…..Well, I’ll just, uh, be going now…I’ll leave you to your…..”
Larry wandered away in a daze.
It was awhile before Angel pulled away, having sensed the other boy leaving, but not wanting to give up
the feel of Xander against him.
Xander looked around in a daze. He noticed Larry was gone and looked at Angel, “Uh, thanks, not sure
why you did that for me, but, uh thanks.”
Angel smirked a little, “I couldn’t let some other guy get away with having his hands all over my
boyfriend, now could I?”
Xander shook his head in confusion, “But you’re not really my boyfriend.”
“I’m not?”
“No.”
“Are you sure?”
“Pretty sure,” Xander said in confusion.
Angel looked at him and smiled, “Would you like me to be?”
